One of the Most Popular Levadas of Madeira with a distance of 9kms. It starts on the road ER.110 Rabaçal and end on the Paúl da Serra.

Vereda Fanal Forest

The footpath of Fanal is one of the most emblematic footpaths i the whole island of Madeira. Located in the middle of the Laurissilva forest this route is breathtaking whether it is done under clear skys or when it is visited by fog, a frequent presence due to the altitude of the route. The path starts at E.R. 209 at Pico dos Assobiadouros, sometimes crossing the regional road, until you reach the fantastic Fanal.

Pico Areiro - Encumeada

From Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo, From Pico Ruivo the Footpath leading to the Pico Ruivo Shelter, you will find signs indicating the following routes: PR 1- Pico do Areeiro Footpath, leading to Madeira’s 2nd highest peak (1817m); and PR 1.1- Ilha Footpath, which descends to the parish of Ilha.The beginning of the trail to Encumeada begins a few metres above the Pico Ruivo Shelter.

Levada do Moinho - Levada Nova - Ponta do Sol

The trail starts on Lombada da Ponta do Sol, near the Church. with fantastic panoramic views of the valley and the beautiful village of Ponta do Sol.at the end of the route you climb the path that leads to the Levada Nova. Once there, follow the opposite direction until you reach the impressive waterfall of this Levada.

Boca da Corrida - Encumeada

Crossing part of the central mountain massif, this walk crosses the foot of some of the highest peaks on Madeira, and gives a glimpse of Curral das Freiras in its mountain stronghold. This is an old ‘Royal Path’, that was paved and used as one of the main routes across the island by the landed gentry.
